Frequently asked questions
- My subtitles are a few seconds off — can I fix that?
- Yes. Enter how far out they are and the tool shifts every cue by that amount, forward or backward, so the whole file lines up with the video again.
- What is the difference between SRT and VTT?
- Both are plain-text subtitle formats. SRT is the most widely supported by media players, while VTT (WebVTT) is the format web video uses. This editor converts between them in one click.
- Can I fix only some lines without retiming everything?
- Yes. You can edit the text and timing of individual cues directly, or apply a single shift across the whole file — whichever the situation needs.
- Is my file sent to a server?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your file is read and processed on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is logged or stored.
